SH Note #29 : Today Is As Good As Any Other Day To Begin Again!

Hiiiiii, happy summertime!!!

Welcome to my weekly Friday newsletter!

Please join me in overlooking that it is Saturday and that it has been a month since my last newsletter :)

It's been a hot minute, but I needed to give myself more time to adjust and prioritize my self-care and sleep while I moved to the USA from the UK ― almost exactly one month ago.

Change is so uncomfortable!!!!!!!!!!

TBH I was going to put off sending this for another week because I missed yesterday, but I'm ready to get this going again and today is as good as any other day to begin again.

My nomad solopreneur life officially launched on 6/1/19 ― this is the big picture dream: a six-figure business that I can run by myself remotely while taking weeks at a time off to adventure and explore every single country in the world. I want to spend a couple of months living in each of my favorite cities around the world every year ― Amsterdam, Athens, Paris, Sydney, San Francisco, etc, etc.

Full transparency ― my LLC made like $505 last year, so you're legitimately about to watch me build this dream from scratch!

OK love, you know the drill ― below is the latest list of links that I'm referring to so I can build my best life one intriguing article, book, video, and podcast at a time:

WHERE I'M TRAVELING
  • This summer I am based out of at my parent's house in the Philadelphia suburbs, and I've been bouncing around between there, the Jersey Shore, and New York City.
    • I just can't stay away from NYC (where I lived from 2008 - 2018) and in my dream world, the city would be my permanent home base. But as a nomad (with limited savings) it doesn't make sense to pay rent if I'll be living outside of the States for half of the year... oh well, at least I know what I'm working towards!
  • I have a flight booked back to London in September ―my big goal is to live in and work from Amsterdam for eight weeks this fall after visiting my London loves for a couple of weeks. Right now I have no plans and not enough money, but I am visualizing this dream coming true, surrendering it to the universe, and putting in the effort (business building + biking practice) so magic can happen to manifest this lifelong dream.

WHAT I'M WRITING

BOOKS I'M READING
  • Woo!! I finally finished reading my first book of the year!! (My goal was 25 by now, but whatever...) As I design and shape my new solopreneur life, I want to prioritize my health and optimize my daily routine, and this was the perfect kick-off: Change Your Schedule, Change Your Life.

PODCASTS I'M LISTENING TO

YOUTUBE VIDEOS I'M WATCHING
  • This is a TedX Talk I think you would benefit greatly from watching, whether you're in the middle of a career transition or just lost in life translation right now.
    • Jenny Blake does a brilliant job of throwing out the historical career ladder that we're all familiar with, and bringing in the career jungle gym that gives us so much more joy and many more options. "You are the creative director of your life: customize as you go along, and take pride in the journey!"

QUOTE I LOVE
  • "Be willing to be uncomfortable. Be comfortable being uncomfortable. It may get tough, but it’s a small price to pay for living a dream." ― Peter McWilliams

My dear you are good enough. You are smart enough. You are talented enough. You always have been, and you always will be.

Now let's go build our best lives... slowly, steadily, and one teeny tiny step at a time!
