You know I keep it real with you - so I have to admit that I wrote in my diary this week that Amsterdam is just NOT. THAT. FUN.
I wrote this for a few reasons - first because I'm dramatic like that LOL, second because I was sleep-deprived, and third because I'm struggling to find a work / play /self-care balance here.
This was a learning curve I didn't expect, but it's obvious now.
Yes, I am familiar with uprooting my life and moving to a foreign country or city - but I had this huge AHA moment* and realized I haven't given myself nearly enough credit for the emotional and physical energy that takes up - even if I love doing it!

*Jenny Blake's Free-up Founder Time course has also resonated and rocked my world this week!
I am both a workaholic and a funaholic - which means that sleep and self-care are the first things I give up on when I have a lot of work that I'm passionate about on my plate and a lot of cool experiences coming my way (which is like, always).
Last weekly I quickly ran myself into the ground because I was working and playing like 20-hour long days. I had so much fun... but ended up completely depleted by the weekend and dramatically declaring that Amsterdam was no fun...
Now I've created a new daily routine that blocks time for fun, work, and for eight hours of sleep and this week has gone much more smoothly so far, and I know I will be so much more productive in the long run.
