Book #7: The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer

❤ Book #7 recap from my 50 Books 2018 Challenge!

❤ You can read about my initial challenge progress, and check out all the books I’m reading this year here.

❤ I got off track, but I’m back at it now:

“In order to grow, you must give up the struggle to remain the same, and learn to embrace change at all times.”

The Untethered Soul

The Journey Beyond Yourself, by Michael A. Singer

This is the best self-help / transformation book that I have ever read.

And I have read A LOT of them… especially since my divorce ;) I will be reading this book every year (if not more often) for the rest of my life.

I highly recommend every single person read The Untethered Soul.

Michael Singer takes what I always thought to be an extremely complex topic and breaks it down so simply and perfectly that anyone can be transformed from reading this book.

“The truth is that most of life will unfold in accordance with forces far outside your control, regardless of what your mind says about it…
You can think about it all you want, but life is still going to keep on happening.”

If you have ever wondered what it would be like to be free from limitations, find inner peace, and soar beyond your boundaries — this book is for you.

I’m not gonna lie, this book had me in tears through a lot of the chapters.

But tears of joy and relief.

The first chapter kicks off with “The Voice Inside Your Head” and I don’t know about you — but the voice inside my head can be a huge bitch sometimes and I have never been able to control her like this before I read this book.

These concepts drastically changed and improved my life.

This book takes you through awakening your consciousness, experiencing energy, freeing yourself, going beyond, and living life.

I have struggled so much with “being” or “finding” my “true self” my entire life, and especially in recent years while I lived through a rough marriage and divorce.

I’ve often felt so lost and like a shell of myself. I constantly adapted to others need and wasn’t really sure who the real me was.

The Untethered Soul dives deep into that and truly changed my outlook and my relationship with myself.

We so often close ourselves off in effort to protect ourselves — but that starts a viscous cycle and our hearts become so closed off over time that we don’t even realize we’re in the dark.

This book will help you understand your darkness and how to welcome and accept the light.

“Your true greatness hides on the other side of that layer of pain.”

It is possible to be free, happy, honest, vulnerable, and enlightened.

I may have doubted I’d be able to find it before I read this book, but I no longer do. All of us can walk the highest spiritual path, and be happy for the rest of our lives.

“You can be happy just to be alive.
You can be happy having all these things happen to you, and then be happy to die.
If you can live this way, your heart will be so open and your Spirit will be so free, that you will soar up to the heavens.”

Whenever you begin to freak the fuck out, always keep in mind:

“You are sitting on a planet spinning around in the middle of absolutely nowhere.
Though you can only see a few thousand stars, there are hundreds of billions of stars in our Milky Way Galaxy alone.
In fact, it is estimated that there are over a trillion stars in the Spiral Galaxy.
And that galaxy would look like one star to us, if we could even see it.
You’re just standing on one little ball of dirt and spinning around one of the stars.
From that perspective, do you really care what people think about your clothes or your car?”
