The purpose of YOUR life is to figure out who YOU are.
It’s that simple.
And that fucking complicated.
YOUR PERSONAL journey is what will change the world.
You have permission from the Universe to focus on yourself and yourself only.
I used to think that was a super selfish way of thinking. So I focused on everyone else — and it made me miserable and drove me mad.
Now, that doesn’t mean you have permission to act like an egocentric asshole maniac — never being kind, volunteering, or helping others on a regular basis — it means that prioritizing cleaning up our own shit is what helps clean up the world.
Put your own oxygen mask on first.
Everything you judge thereby project onto others is a direct reflection of your own shit.
Filter every single comment and judgement of yours through that truth, and I promise you’ll learn so much about yourself very quickly.
I’ve spent most of my life thinking I was never good enough, or smart enough, or talented enough.
But we are BORN good enough and smart enough and talented enough.
We are each UNIQUELY born where and with EXACTLY what we need for our journey of figuring out who we are.
You are good enough.
You are smart enough.
You are talented enough.
The big turning point comes once you truly deep down in your soul accept that, and give yourself permission to focus on, love, and accept yourself first.
It’s taken me 32 years to do so.
Life is a roller coaster and you will have many turning points, but understanding and accepting that is the fundamental truth to finding inner peace and changing the world.
For the first time in my life, on this trip to Cuba, I looked myself in the eyes, and truly deep down in my soul completely loved and accepted my uniquely born self, for exactly as it was.
Perhaps I had done that before, when I was a young child, before the world and society got to me, but I had lost it a very long time ago.
And I had felt lost ever since.
Until now.
It’s been a roller coaster journey to get here, and I expect and accept many more loops to come, but life got instantly easier and more joyous after that moment, and I will keep seeking and living in that peace everyday.
